Dog rescues really are not unique to any one type of person. Even the most transient of travellers can find themselves in the middle of a moment where they have to help a pupper in need get a better life than the one they are currently stuck with. That is the tale of our puppy today.

A Vagabond is how a person who travels from place to place without a fixed home describes themselves. And it is the very description our dog rescuing traveller gave to himself when sharing his story. A dog lover himself, he travels full time with his soul dog by his side, roaming the states, taking in the rivers and mountains and going where the wind may blow them. But on this pawticular attempt to move on from the town they had been holed up in something crossed their path that simply could not be ignored.

It was a filth covered puppy, scared and sweet at the same time. Confused by the smelly situation our travelling pair tried to calm the pup down and get him clean before figuring out what to do with him and their plans. But after giving the poor puppy the last of their food and water, it became obvious that this clueless creature could not be left to roam the streets alone, and so a pawrent must be found. Easier said than done when you know no one in the area you are in. But as luck would have it, a noble dog lover was mere feet away…

Wow, what a time, place and thing to happen. Oftentimes it is in the most inconvenient of places and times that challenges like this are presented to us in life. But it is what we do in those moments that prove to ourselves and to the universal powers that be, that we are worthy, righteous and kind. And this hooman has turned out to be all that and more. To give up on their train, to give this random puppy their food and water. He would have given it the shirt off his back if needed be.

Wowza, what a wild turn of events! To go from having no hope of finding this puppy an immediate home to suddenly finding that home is just unreal. It is such a confirming sign that this is the universe at place, coming to test this dog lover’s kindness and care for animals. Perhaps to teach him a lesson about his own empathy or even just for the sake of being the savior of this puppy when no one else would have. Either way this is such a heartwarming way to hear of a puppy finding its furever home.
